Target users
This dictionary is meant to answer the needs of persons confronted with economic and juridical terminology in their everyday activity, students, translators, business people of all kinds (manufacturers, marketers, forwarders, insurance agents, Customs officers and others), workers in law-related disciplines, as well as the general Hebrew-speaking or Anglophone public.
The present dictionary does not substitute for an "ordinary" dictionary – but rather supplies such English and Hebrew words and phrases as do not generally appear in extant dictionaries. It therefore sets out to help people with a good basic knowledge of English.
Vocabulary
The dictionary aims at translating words and phrases in their juridical, economic etc. context, offering meanings, which may slightly or considerably differ from the usual, everyday ones. Therefore it will not include all the "regular" keywords, but focus on word and word-combinations specific of the spheres it comprehends. Neither will it contain all the meanings of a given keyword; solely the ones relevant to the domains considered.
מטרת המילון וקהל היעד שלו:
מילון עסקי זה נכתב כדי לשמש כלי עזר חשוב לציבור רחב של אנשים המשתמשים בשפה האנגלית והעברית בעיסוקיהם המקצועיים והמסחריים, וכדי לספק את צורכיהם של אנשי המקצוע בתחומי המשפט, הכלכלה, המסחר המקומי והבינלאומי, חשבונאות, כספים, שוק ההון ועוד.
מילון זה אינו מיועד לשמש תחליף למילון אנגלי "רגיל" - אלא להוות אמצעי משלים למגוון של מילים או של ביטויים מקצועיים באנגלית ובעברית, שלרוב לא יבואו לידי ביטוי במילונים הקיימים. על כן, מילון זה מיועד לבעלי רמה בסיסית טובה באנגלית.
היקף המילון:
במילון זה קובצו כ-18000 ערכים וביטויים בחלק העברי-אנגלי, ועוד כ-35000 בחלק האנגלי-עברי. ערכים אלו הם פרי מאמץ קפדני של איסוף ותיעוד ממושך מתוך פרסומים מקצועיים שונים, מתוך מאמרים ומאמצעי התקשורת האלקטרונית והכתובה.
אוצר המילים הכלול במילון:
מטרתו של מילון זה לספק תרגומים ופירושים ייחודיים למילים ולביטויים רבים, שבהקשר הנתון - בעסקים, בתחומי המשפט, הכלכלה וכד' - עשויים לקבל משמעות ייחודית השונה במעט או בתכלית מהפירוש המקובל, כפי שלרוב תבוא לידי ביטוי במילון אנגלי "רגיל". ברור על כן, שלא ניתן לכלול במילון כזה את כל הערכים שמילון אנגלי "רגיל" מציע, אלא להתמקד באותם ערכים וביטויים (צירופי מילים) שיש להם הקשר ושימוש בתחומים שלעיל.
יתרונה הגדול של אפליקציה זו היא בכך שהיא לגמרי offline - כלומר, לאחר הורדתו של המילון והתקנתו איך צורך להפעילו בחיבור WIFI
